How to Get to Heaven
Some kids think they can get to
heaven by obeying their parents or trying their best in school. Some think that
if they don't lie or cheat they can get to heaven.
The bad news...
The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the
glory of God." That means that we are all sinners. Even one sin can keep
us out of heaven. So if you lied or cheated or disobeyed even one time it's
enough to keep you separated from God.
But, here is..
The good news...
The good news is that Jesus loves you anyway. No matter what you do, He will
love you! He loves you so much that He has provided us a way to get to heaven
even though we are all sinners.
In Romans 5:8, the Bible says "While we were still sinners, Christ died
for us." That means even though we are sinners, Jesus died on the cross
for us so that we can go to heaven.
When Jesus died on the cross, he paid the price for your sins. He loves you that
much!
The Bible says in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift
of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord."
John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only
Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting
life." That means if you accept Jesus as you personal Lord and Savior you
are promised life forever in heaven!
If you want Jesus to be your Savior, talk to God from your heart and tell him.
Here is a prayer that you can pray to help you do that.
Dear God,
I know I am a sinner and I do not deserve to go to heaven. I know that my sin
keeps me away from you. I want to follow you forever. I believe You died on the
cross for me and that God raised you from the dead. Jesus, come into my life,
forgive my sins and save me. I trust You to save me and accept you free gift of
eternal life. With your help, I will obey You and serve You all of my life.
