Joevest Varghese- India

My name is Joevest Varghese; I am at present The Pastor of Spring Valley Baptist Church and the Director of Spring Valley Baptist ministries Oyoor P.O Kollam, Kerala South India. Spring Valley Baptist Church is a growing congregation in the midst of a Muslim and Hindu community. This Church was founded by my father Rev. Varghese who came to Kansas City MO, in the late sixties and studied in Calvary Bible College, became a missionary of Spring Valley Baptist Church of Ray town MO. He came to India and started the Church from the scratch. When I was in high School, I got saved, also got Baptised and God called me for His ministry. I completed my four year Bible college training in Berean Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Bangalore India, where I met my wife Monica, who was my classmate , we prayerfully decided to get married and just Ten days before our marriage my Dad had a sudden brain fever and he died. God had blessed our family life and gave two children Joann Rebekah Varghese and Joshua Varghese. Joann completed her High School, Joshua is in High school now. My mom Annamma also lives with our Family. After my Dad’s death The Church asked me to take up the Leadership which I gladly accepted.

Out reach Ministry and Missions

By the ministry of Spring Valley Baptist Church, we could plant another four more Baptist churches among the interior villages. We also started a nursery School for the poor and needy Children. We also print and publish Christian booklets and tracts with the help of Stone Croft ministries of Kansas City MO. The main objective of our mission is to plant local Churches in the interior villages. At present we have a team of Young People working with us. We have seven Pastors and four Evangelists. At present we are pioneering work in five different interior Villages. Also we do coastal out reach among the Poor fishermen Colony. We do personal and door to door Evangelism. We also conduct Open air Meetings, Seminars and Gospel conventions. We also started small group Bible studies in more than 15 places. Every year we conduct Vacation Bible School in our church , we gather children from all religious backgrounds. We also conduct Youth Camps and we sent the Young dedicated ones for Bible College training.

NEEDS OF OUR MINISTRY

  • Pray for Open doors, in many places doors are being closed for spreading of the Gospel. We face much
  • opposition from the anti Christian groups, please pray for the safety of our dear ones.
    • Our School for poor children need funds for feeding programmes and educational needs, For this we need $15000 this academic year.
  • The five unreached places where we had identified and started a base pioneer work need more help for planting churches. Three places are coastal where the poor fishermen live; two other places are hilly interior villages where the socially backward people live.
  • To reach out and plant Churches in these places , we need $ 250 monthly for one place. So a totally $ 1250 monthly is needed.
