Who is Jesus Christ?

Some say Jesus was a historical figure. Others identify him as a role model of how to be a nice guy. But who is He really?

When Jesus was on earth He made it a point to be relevant and connect with people where they were. The biggest complaint made against Him was that He was not "religious" enough. Most of His closest friends were fishermen (not the most prominent of people). He loved spending time with children (despite the fact there is not much glory in the admiration of a child). He was often found hanging out in the homes of the publicly despised (prostitutes and tax collectors weren't too popular back in those days either). Jesus loved people no matter what their status or what they had to offer Him in return.

The Bible says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He still loves people who are full of problems and sins.

He said:

"Behold I stand at the door (of your heart) and knock, he who invites me in, I will come in and have fellowship with him." (Revelation 3:20)

"I am the resurrection and the life, whoever believes in me will never die." (John 11:25-26)

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him will never perish but will have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Jesus Christ had four simple teachings:

1. We have all sinned and separated ourselves from God.
In Romans 3:23, the Bible says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

2. Because of our sin we will one day die.
In fact, the Bible says it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement (Hebrews 9:27). The first part of Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death."

3. God sent His only Son, Jesus, into the world to live a perfect life and to pay the penalty for our sin on a cross.
In the second part of Romans 6:23 it says, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:8 states that "But God commendeth (shows) his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

4. Those who want to be forgiven for their sins and live forever with God in heaven must believe that what Jesus did was good enough to pay their penalty.

Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to be the Lord of your life. The Bible says in Romans 10:13 that "FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED." The Bible states in Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

If you would like to receive Jesus as your Savior we invite you to bow your head right now wherever you are and in your own words pray to Jesus and acknowledge that you are a sinner, ask Him to forgive you of your sins, thank Him for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin, and invite him to come into your heart.

If you prayed to receive Christ as your Savior please contact us and let us know. We would like to send you some material that will help you grow as a new believer in Christ.
