Larry & Tammy Allred - Serving in Mexico

Larry was saved and baptized at age 6, and his wife, Tammy, was saved and baptized at age 15. They went on their first mission trip as newlyweds to Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. It was at that time that they both surrendered to be missionaries to Mexico.

Over the course of the following 10 years, they had 4 children (Joshua, David, Christopher, and Phillip). Larry earned a Bachelor`s Degree in Biblical Studies, and the Allred's had raised support to move to Mexico. They spent one year in Language School in Texas and almost 2 years working under an established mission work in Monterrey, Mexico as they learned the language and adapted to the new culture.

In April of 2000, the Allred's moved to Merida, Yucatan, Mexico where they immediately started a home Bible Study. This Bible study eventually developed into their first church plant - the North Merida Baptist Church. That first church has grown tremendously and they now have a core group of leaders that they are training through discipleship to do the work of the ministry.

Two of those men (along with their families) started a second church plant, the South Merida Baptist Church, on June 7, 2009. The Allred's will be working alongside them as they continue their pastoral training. In September 2009, they started a Seminary to further train these men and others who feel that God is calling them into the ministry. They also participate by translating and evangelizing in medical mission efforts in a city about 2 hours away in Valladolid, Yucatan a couple of times per year.

Larry completed his Master's Degree in Biblical Studies in 2008, and is currently working towards a PhD. The Allred's praise the Lord for the opportunities that He continues to give them to serve Him on the field of Mexico.
