Hrvoje and Petra Malovic are serving with Campus Crusade for Christ in the Republic of Croatia, located in the south-central Europe. They got married in 2001 and have three children, Mia 5, Dora 3, and Emili 4 months old. They currently live in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb.
Eight years ago, the Malovics felt the Lord calling them to work among college students. Their ministry is virtually the only one present that takes initiative in meeting students, sharing the Gospel and discipling those future leaders of Croatia. Their main approach is initiative evangelism and personal discipleship. They seek all the possible creative approaches to reach new students and organize interesting and appealing outreaches with a purpose of drawing students using contemporary themes. Ultimately, they strive to offer the most important topic: the person of Jesus Christ and how students can have relationship with Him.
The Malovic's ministry vision is huge. Serving on a team of five full-time staff, their vision is to reach students in Zagreb with the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. What makes it huge is that there are more than 100,000 students who represent more than 10% of the Zagreb’s population. They are praying and laboring toward the goal that each one of them will have multiple exposures to the Gospel, and have a personal opportunity to respond to the call. They aim to personally disciple students to become truly followers of Jesus, and those who would bring others to the Lord. They are serving in 95% Roman Catholic country, where typical church does not provide biblical teaching or fellowship. The Malovics are helping students to make a huge cultural change and join “free” protestant churches (particularly their Baptist church where Hrvoje is serving in a role of a worship pastor). They have seen that people who join their churches have become leaders and pillars by receiving the necessary training, and are well spiritually and theologically developed, and so are actively benefiting churches. They pray their ministry will be becoming more and more influencing.
