Nursery & Preschool Volunteer Teams
Our children's ministry is reliant on the service of its wonderful team of volunteers, both on Sundays during class and throughout the week with special projects.
“Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.” 1 Corinthians 12:14 (NIV)

Yes, I am interested in serving on the Nursery/Preschool Volunteer Team! Please contact me with more information.
See full details about each area of service below this form.
Nursery Laundry Team
The Need: We have 2-3 baskets of soiled cloth toys, blankets,
volunteer smocks, crib linens, and more from our two youngest Nursery
classrooms each week.
How Often: Sign up to do Nursery Laundry for one month of the year.
Tasks include: Washing items like soiled crib linens, cloth
toys, and burp cloths each week. Bring them back before the 1st Service
on Sunday each week for usage. Also, items such as exersaucer and
swing covers need laundered once a month.
Return clean, folded items to Nursery.
Available: We have a washer and dryer on the premises if you would prefer to launder the items at church.
Take-Home Project Team
The Need: We have 42 classes of Nursery/Preschool children
that meet on Sundays and Wednesday nights… all who do lesson plans that
require visuals, game pieces, etc for those lessons to happen!
How Often: You’ll be contacted about once every few weeks to
see if you’re interested & available in a specific upcoming
project.
If you volunteer for and are matched up with a project, just swing by
the Check-in Desk and grab the bag with your name on it! Take it with
you to complete in the comfort of your home! Return your completed bag
of items by return date… usually 2-4 weeks.
Tasks include: Various projects require different things.
Some projects require cutting, stapling, gluing, assembling… things like
that. All supplies are provided by ALBC for you, so there are no
supply costs to you.
The Tidy Team
The Need: If you have ever seen the aftermath of three Sunday
services, it’s quite a sight to behold!… Some basic straightening
efforts go into prepping each class before it’s used by children again.
Task: Every Monday or Tuesday, gather lost and found items,
straighten countertops and diaper changing areas, wash any leftover
sippy cups, put away clean dishes, restock supplies in cupboards, put
fresh linens on baby beds, etc.
No vacuuming or sorting toys! :)
Amount of Time: Takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours each
week. You’ll have a “team member” so that you can alternate weeks as
well as have someone to switch with if you’re sick or unavailable.
Adopt-A-Classrom Deep Cleaning Team
The Need: We would like to ensure that all classroom toys,
although mostly disinfected weekly by volunteers, are being thoroughly
cleaned a few times throughout the year.
Task: Pick a classroom to “adopt” for 2012. Once every
quarter, give those hard-to-clean toys (like legos) an extra deep
cleaning as well as clean all other classroom toys and classroom
cubbies.
Amount of Time: Takes approximately 2-4 hours each quarter.
New Mom's Hospitality Team
The Need: We have between 2 to 5 babies born to ALBC families
each month. We’d like to tell them congratulations as well as give them
a gift to welcome their new one to the world!
Task: This team member serves as a welcoming face to give a
gift (that ALBC provides) to the family at their home as well as gather
baby’s information for publication.
New Mom's Casserole Comittee
The Need: We would like to offer families who are not a part of a
Community Group at ALBC a few meals as a way of serving them during
their time of transition with a new baby!
Task: Once we have been notified that a new baby’s family is
welcoming meals, our New Mom’s Casserole Committee Coordinator sends out
an e-mail alerting the team that they can sign up on an online calendar
to make and deliver a meal for this family.
Going Green Research Team
The Need: We desire to “go green” to have clean and safe
classrooms for our young children to play and learn in. Help is needed
to assess the effectiveness and safety of our current cleaning products
as well as come up with cost-effective options to use in the future.
Amount of Time: The goal is to meet in February 2012 and come up with a “Going Green Plan” by Spring 2012.
