Outreach

Abundant Life strives to see the world as God does – with love. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” Because God loves the world and because Jesus gives us a command to go and reach people for the cause of Christ in Mathew 28:19-20, we have a passion to reach the lost outside our walls. We do this by not only supporting foreign and local missions, but also by leading the entire church body out into Lee’s Summit and the surrounding communities to invite the lost to come to Christ. Abundant Life is committed to both loving God and loving others. To this end, the church offers a variety of ministries for members to get involved in, and opportunities for the community to experience care and love from Abundant Life.

TEAM Outreach
TEAM is Abundant Life's outreach ministry designed to reach the lost and meet the other physical and spiritual needs of those in the community.

TEAM meets every Monday night from 6-8 p.m. Participants are divided into four teams, and provide a variety of outreach ministries, including:
  1. Welcoming new individuals in the community.
  2. Writing sympathy or get well cards to those in need.
  3. Delivering gifts to those who have visited the church.
  4. Hanging door hangers that invite people to Abundant Life.
  5. Making other personal visits as needs arise.
In addition, there are home-based opportunities to participate in TEAM. Any Abundant Life member can participate in TEAM outreach by contacting Pastor Phil Long at the church office or by email at pastorlong@abundantlifebaptist.com. Dinner and childcare is provided.

Rachel House
Abundant Life is a proud partner of Rachel House, a pro-life ministry for pregnant women. Ministry & donation opportunities are available. Call Kathy Edwards at 816.875.1059 for more information or to help.

Abundant Life Food Pantry
Anyone from the church or the Lee's Summit area who is in need is welcome to visit Abundant Life's Food Pantry. The pantry is open every Wednesday from 2:30-5:30 p.m., and the 1st and 3rd Monday from 3:30-7:30 p.m. For more information, please contact the church office at 816.554.8181. Volunteers are welcome.
