Treehouse Preschool Staff

Dana White -- Pals

Hi!  My name is Dana White and I am blessed to be a preschool teacher here at Treehouse Preschool.  I am a 1986 graduate of William Jewell College and I have one child, a daughter named Hadley.  I have taught preschool and worked with children of all ages for over 20 years.  I absolutely love the kids to pieces and am always sad to see them go at the end of the year.  I constantly thank God for the opportunity and ability to teach these young children and get them ready for kindergarten.  I count every day that I'm with them as a very good day!  May God bless each and every one of them!

But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."   Luke 18:16

Nicci Adkins -- Pals

Hi there!  I'm Nicci Adkins and my first ministry is my family.  God has blessed me with three awesome kids!  This is my third year of teaching the Pals class and I love my job!!  We have lots of fun learning, painting, and creating.  My favorite memory from last year was making homemade play dough and cooking pancakes in class.  What I would like you to know about me is  that I love Jesus with my whole heart! My favorite verse is Philippians 4:8; "...whatever is lovely, think about such things."  My favorite joy each day is helping the children discover God and hearing the sweet prayers they share in class.  I am also excited to be finishing my business management degree this semester.  I currently have 36 hours of early childhood education, and in the past I have experienced working in Children's Ministry for Lee's Summit Community Church, as well as providing childcare for their Mothers of Preschoolers, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Pioneer Clubs, and Women's Bible Studies.  I enjoy family, friendship, Facebook :), movies, weddings, taking and looking at pictures.  I can have fun doing just about anything.  I consider each day a gift!

Joann Jackson -- Buddies

Hello! My name is JoAnn Jackson and this is my third year teaching the Buddies Class. I am so excited about the coming school year -- especially as I will also be teaching a 4-year-old class in addition to two 3-year-old classes. I have lots of fun learning activities planned, everything from making pancakes in our cooking section to planting and growing flowers in the spring. A few things that I would like to share about myself is that I love the Lord with all my heart and I am so blessed to get to share my life with my preschool class. Their learning and growing as individuals is so exciting.  My favorite Bible verse is Joshua 24:15.  I have been married to my husband Mark for 25 years and we have 3 super terrific children, Megan, Erin & Brett, and 2 super terrific son-in-laws, Ryan & David. Since this is my third year at teaching preschool, I have most of the kinks worked out, but if you have any concerns feel free to contact me or Mrs. Lisa.

Courtney Cox -- Kidhabla

I have been married to my fabulous husband, Chad, for seven years. During that time, God has blessed us with three beautiful children. Two of my children have attended the Treehouse Preschool, which is how the Lord led me to teach here. I love that I am able to use the knowledge God has given me to teach these preschoolers. I have a degree in Elementary Education and took six years of Spanish throughout High School and College. This is the first year I have had the chance to teach Spanish and I am learning so much through this experience. I am so blessed to teach and get to know each of the kiddos that come into my room. Muchas Bendiciones!

"For I know the thoughts I think towards you says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11

Misty Terrell -- Kidsing

Misty Terrell has a degree in music education and taught at both the elementary and secondary levels for the Pleasant Hill and Lee's Summit public school districts.  She is certified to teach early childhood music classes and spent several of her summers teaching at Children's Center for the Visually Impaired in downtown Kansas City.  Her passion for music, children, and God's Word eventually landed her at the Treehouse Preschool.  Misty's philosophy in the classroom is using a hands-on approach and giving ample opportunities for "imagination play" resulting in preschoolers having a love for the arts at an early age.

Christa Hopper -- Kidputer

I feel so blessed to be able to teach at the Treehouse Preschool.  I have a business degree with a computer emphasis from UMKC. I worked in the computer field for four years after college and then stayed home to raise my children. I have a wonderful husband and three awesome children: Jake, Makay, and Josh. I taught my children at home for many years. I love serving in Children's Ministry at ALBC and teaching children. I have enjoyed being able to teach in the Treehouse Preschool.

Lisa Swenson -- Treehouse Preschool Coordinator

I have been married to my husband Ben for 20 years.  We have two beautiful children, Brittany (13) and Gabe (10).  I have been serving the Lord in education for 7 years.  The Lord also blessed us this year with Lulu, a special teenage exchange student daughter from China.    I taught preschool at Plaza Heights Christian Academy where my children attend; then the Lord opened the Treehouse Preschool and moved me here.  It has been such a joy to serve the Lord in not only teaching children in academics, but also about His love for them.  Then the Lord ask me once again to move out of my comfort zone and work on the management side of education.  It has been such a joy to serve the preschool families in this capacity.  I love serving the Lord through the preschoolers and their families.
